Ifsec a successful return to London
After 22 years in Birmingham the Ifsec International
security exhibition, organised by UBM Live, returned
to London, where the event was held at the Excel
London from 17th19th June 2014. The return to the
UK capital can certainly be marked as an immediate
success.

UKTI Events Alliance being pre-
sent at the show for the first time.
Increased security budgets
Visitor buying demographics
proved that budgets in 2014 have
increased, with a significant 32
per cent of attendees having a
budget in excess of £1 million
and 10 per cent have a budget
greater than £10 million. Overall
budgets have increased by 8.6
per cent, demonstrating the
growth that the security industry
is currently experiencing. Stand
out trends from visitor interest
included an increase in demand
to see the latest innovations
around; integrated security,
intruder alarms, physical security
and perimeter protection.
More than 40,000 at-
tendees flooded through
the doors of the event, which, un-
der the umbrella title of Protection
& Management 2014, brought
together Firex International,the
Facilities Show, Energy & Envi-
ronment Expo, Safety & Health
Expo and Service Management
Expo, all alongside Ifsec Interna-
tional.

2014 opened the show with a
record breaking first day as 19,544
visitors swarmed into the halls, a
huge increase of 23 per cent on
2013, demonstrating that this is
the go-to place for sourcing the
latest products and innovations
and discovering expertise across
security, fire, facilities, safety
and energy. More than 1,700
exhibitors showcased their latest
solutions and offered visitors
the chance to get hands-on with
interactive features.
Almost 23,000 visitors

breaks down as a 5.2 per cent
increase in visitors, 29 per cent
