show, but there were also many
Chinese and Korean companies
and a number of exhibitors from
the rest of Southeast Asia. Parson
Lee, Director of the exhibition,
was happy about the participation
of new exhibitors such as Axis and
Bosch, but Secutech is mainly an
Asian showcase for security. n
who marketed cloud services were
surprisingly few.
Biometric access control
There were a great deal of control
products on display, especially
biometric readers, a product area
where the South Korean com-
panies Suprema and Virdis have
achieved a strong position which
has resulted in a growing interest
in Asian products. Suprema did
not have a booth of their own this
time, but appeared on one of their
partners' booths.
Asian window
The big Taiwanese companies,
Vivotek, Brickcom, Qnap and
Acti, were in focus during the
World Trade Center. The exhibi-
tion was dominated mainly by
products related to camera-based
security systems.
Camera trends
HD and video storage on SD-
cards were two strong trends at
Secutech and IP over coax was
another one. There were also
many examples of video analysis,
although not quite as much as one
might have expected. Exhibitors
There were about ten per-
cent fewer visitors than last
year. "It must be remembered that
we have grown substantially every
year and it is of course impossible to
avoid a decline in some years", says
Parson Lee, Managing Director of
Messe Frankfurt New Era Business,
which organises Secutech.
