megapixel cameras.
It supports up to 24Tb of
storage capacity, which makes it
ideal for continuous recording of
high-resolution video. It supports
a broad range of IP cameras in the
Linux-based standalone NVR mar-

ˇ Sony
displayed the Ipela Engine,
which is the general term for
Sony's integrated signal processing
system for high picture quality.
It is capable of the industry's first
130dB wide dynamic range in full
HD quality at 30 fps. The shooting
of high-resolution images in full
HD (1920x1080) is now possible
through high-speed recording at
60 fps, double that of the standard
number of frames until now. With
DEPA Advanced, the functions for
detection of moving objects, hu-
mans and any objects blocking the
view among others have been en-
hanced through an alarm detection
function using image processing.
With XDNR, clear images can now
be created in low-light conditions
through the detection and removal
of noise within a single frame.
ˇ Samsung demonstrated their
new four channel SRD-440 H.264
DVR. It offers users the conveni-
ence of remotely monitoring live
or recorded images via an Iphone,
Ipad or Android smartphone. The
SRD-440 is fully compatible with
the free Samsung Ipolis mobile
app. It supersedes the SRD-450
and according to Samsung, it is
likely to be equally popular with
installers who are looking to rec-
ommend an economically priced
recording solution for small retail
and office environments, and par-
ticularly so where the user wishes
to keep a watchful eye on their
premises out of business hours.

increase in end-user visitors from
across the retail, transport, and
facilities management sectors.
A hot topic for the indus-

towards convergence. A bespoke
education programme with an
emphasis on IP and integration
skills and knowledge contributed
to a 40 percent rise in visitors
from the IT/networking/telecoms
sector.
As part of this IP education
drive, Ifsec 2012 debuted the
IPassured Education Zone, an
exclusive area where a team of
experts offered presentations on
leading industry trends.
With eight seminar theatres in
