Robust HD bullet surveillance camera
Edinburgh, UK
The launch of the BX600 HD bullet camera
from Indigovision creates a new, robust
outdoor surveillance option with in-built IR
illumination.
The camera provides a high-resolution,
open-standards offering and is effective where
there is a requirement for an external camera
in areas of minimal night-time ambient light.
IP66 rated and Onvif-conformant, the HD
bullet can be installed externally, without the
need to be placed within an additional weath-
er-proof housing, and can tolerate a wide
range of conditions from -30 degrees to 50
degrees (-22 degrees F to 122 degrees F). The
camera requires no additional lighting source,
as it has built-in IR illumination delivering
maximum image quality in low light.
The easy to install HD bullet enables
customers to implement high-quality 1080p
HD video while benefiting from Indigovi-
sion's complete solution. Users can view
live and recorded video from the camera
within Control Center, the user interface to
Indigovision's security management solution,
SMS4. The cameras can be located anywhere
on the network and streamed to numerous
clients without the need for a central server.
This distributed architecture enables the solu-
tion to be easily expanded and eliminates any
single point of failure.
Alex Swanson, Head of Engineering, com-
mented "The new Indigovision HD bullet
provides us with a trusted open-standards
HD camera suitable for outdoor and low-
light use. Designed to work seamlessly with
Indigovision's SMS4, the new addition com-
plements the existing camera range providing
customers with more choice and flexibility."
The BX600 HD bullet camera is a further
expansion to Indigovision's 1080p BX camera
range, which includes BX400 HD mini-
domes and microdomes.

Forteza high security perimeter protection
Klaipeda, Lithuania
Forteza
have started the manufacture of the
new Forteza PC series detectors for high level
security perimeter protection applications.
The main difference between the FMW
and Forteza series detectors, is that these
detectors have 4 independent channels, to
protect one detection zone from other detec-
tion zones nearby that may be working on the
same frequency channel and thereby prevent
them from showing noise visualisation via
the on screen display produced from different
areas located near to the detection zone.
Sometimes this type of detector may need
modifications in non-standard perimeter
protection applications. Perhaps there may
be cars in the road close by or other moving
objects. In this non-standard situation the
detector can then be connected to a computer
via an RS-485 port and on the monitor it
will be easy to see that there is influence from
a moving object outside of the protected
zone. If this influence is very strong, then the
relevant evasive decision can be taken. For
example: to change the detection parameters
of the detector or to change the detector
location.
Independent channels are a highly im-
portant function for non-standard projects
as this feature allows the use of more than
9 detectors in one single area of protection.
The Forteza company engineers often see this
type of problem in storage areas for metallic
items and junk yards for example, where the
signal from one detection zone is reflected
from piles of scrap metal and might influence
a nearby detection zone.
Detection area measures up to 50, 100 or
200 metres. Operating frequency is 10,525
GHz and the device has a narrow detection
zone of up to 2.3 metres for 200 metres length.
The detector parameters can be changed
or monitored remotely via a sensor using the
RS-485 port connected to a computer.
Forteza PC detectors can be used to pro-
tect photovoltaic parks, factories, warehouses,
airports, car parks, building lots and other
territories. Detector sensitivity can be adjusta-
ble for more detail, automatically or manually
depending upon the landscape and required
detection parameters for the protected area.
