Dallmeier Picodome now with 720p HD resolution
Regensburg, Germany
The new Picodome DDF4220HDV
from Dallmeier provides real-time
HD video (720p/30) using the
H.264 codec, currently the most
advanced standard for high-
efficiency video compression, and
supports resolutions up to 1.3
megapixel.
In addition to HD video over
IP, this hybrid camera provides for
a simultaneous analogue SD (PAL/
NTSC) video output via BNC
(CVBS).
The HD Picodome is charac-
terised by its wide dynamic range
(WDR) and allows for image
capture with the highest colour
fidelity and superb reproduction
detail even in scenes with a wide
range of contrast and strong back-
lighting. An excellent low-light
performance also provides for clear
and low noise images even in low
light conditions.
Besides a comprehensive set
of automatic and manual image
optimisation functions, the camera
features many other setting op-
tions in order to meet even the
most demanding of surveillance
conditions.
For the ease of alignment of
the lens/camera unit, the HD
Picodome is equipped with a PPL
ball joint (Push, Point & Lock).
At a resolution of 720p, the digital
image shift function additionally
provides for a subsequent digital
fine alignment of the image sec-
tion.
Depending on the require-
ments, the camera can be conven-
tionally supplied with 12V DC or
conveniently operated via Power
over Ethernet which allows for
an easy, quick and cost-effective
cabling and commissioning.
The vandal-resistant (IK10)
HD Picodome is available as in-
ceiling mount variant or as surface
mount variant in an IP66 rated
enclosure. Both housing variants
are characterised by a highly com-
pact construction and a wide range
of particularly elegant designs that
are available on request.
Economic network ready thermal imaging from Flir
Brede, The Netherlands
The FC-Series S from Flir Systems
are low cost but industrial quality
thermal imaging cameras in a
compact package.
Thermal imaging cameras are
finding their way into more and
more security installations. With
the new FC-Series S thermal im-
aging cameras price is no longer
an obstacle to put the power of
thermal imaging at work in your
security network. The FC-Series
S are low cost but industrial
quality thermal imaging cameras
in a compact package. FC-Series
S thermal imaging cameras are
available in 320 240, and high-
resolution 640 480 formats. To
make sure that there is an FC-
Series S camera for every security
application Flir Systems offers
a wide variety of lenses. Longer
lenses have a narrower field
of view and allow you to spot
intruders from farther away. Wide
dynamic range delivers high con-
trast thermal images in the most
diverse conditions. Even when
the sun is in the field of view.
But also in cold and low contrast
thermal scenes. Ideal for working
together with video analytics
that need properly contrasted
images in order not to gener-
ate false alarms. The FC-Series
S is a hybrid camera, equipped
with Power over Ethernet (PoE),
communication and power are
supplied with only one cable. The
FC-Series S can be integrated
in any existing TCP/IP network
and controlled over a PC. No
additional cables are required.
The FC-Series S comply with the
ONVIF 2.0 standard and can
therefore easily be connected in
a network to work together with
other sensors. Installation within
legacy networks, power in / video
out is also possible. This new
range is designed for use in harsh
environments, because the Flir
FC-Series S are extremely rugged
systems. Their vital core is well
protected, up to IP66 and has a
unique operating temperature
range of -50ºC to +70ºC (contin-
uous operation). Multiple chan-
nels of streaming digital video
are available in H.264, MPEG-4,
or M-JPEG formats. Simultane-
ous digital and composite video
output is also possible. Each
FC-Series S camera comes with a
single sensor copy of Flir Sensors
Manager software. This intuitive
software allows users to manage
and control an FC-Series S cam-
era in a TCP/IP network.

Affordable thermal network camera from Axis
Lund, Sweden
The Axis Q1931-E thermal net-
work camera is an affordable and
solid bullet-style camera especially
designed for outdoor surveillance
in complete darkness and challeng-
ing conditions, and is the latest
addition to the company's line of
fixed thermal cameras.
This outdoor-ready camera is
ideal for monitoring of facili-
ties where early detection of an
intrusion attempt is critical. In
addition, Axis' unique corridor
format allows the camera to deliver
a vertical field of view, perfect for
situations such as the monitoring
of long fences and other perim-
eters. Intelligent video is a key
component of any thermal camera,
and Axis Q1931-E provides tam-
pering alarm, motion detection,
and support for the Axis Camera
Application Platform. Traditional-
ly thermal cameras have only been
an option for high-budget security
installations but now with the Axis
Q1931-E affordable thermal tech-
nology will be available to com-
plete any security installation. The
four available lens alternatives,
the 384 x 288 resolution and the
advanced image processor further
improve effective area and perim-
eter surveillance. The four lens
alternatives sustain maximum flex-
ibility in detection range and field
of view, ranging from 220 m / 240
yd. (50°) and up to1800 m /1970
yd. (6°) depending on lens option.
In addition, the cameras support
key IP-surveillance features such
as H.264 and Motion JPEG, two-
way audio, local storage and Power
over Ethernet. This latest camera
is compact, lightweight yet tough
and is both IP66/NEMA4X and
IK 10 rated, making it resistant to
water, dust and vandalism. It can
operate in all weather conditions
and its arctic temperature control
capability allows reliable start-up
in any temperature from -40 °C
to 50 °C (-40 °F to 122°F). The
camera includes two-way audio
which is useful when a deterring
effect is required and it also in-
cludes edge storage and 24 VDC/
AC input.
