flow sensors and advanced design
features for ease of installation and
reliable operation in the toughest
environments.
According to System Sensor,
these stand alone devices can pro-
vide an ideal solution for remote
applications and multiple device
configurations are available with
a single channel and dual channel
option.
· Schrack Seconet presented its
Integral over IP fire alarm system.
The control panel's operating
panel is displayed on screen, with
the option of message and com-
mand mode operation. A multi-
layer security concept ensures
that non-authorised system access
is blocked. Technical data and
system requirements are available
upon request.
According to Schrack, there
are clear advantages for all users:
being supplied with vital informa-
tion at any time in any location in
its entirety, to provide a compre-
hensive overview immediately if
required, so that users are instantly
in a position to make rapid and
clear decisions. IP technology of-
fers the advantage of being able to
automatically consult and analyse
important system data. This
enables users to react immediately
when a problem first occurs, but
has not yet caused any damage. It
is possible to therefore prepare ser-
vicing operations effectively and to
optimally define their execution.
· Link displayed it new active
glassbreak detector with EN
Grade 4 and VdS C Certification.
It is designed to be installed on or
in objects which are classified as
particularly high-risk by insurance
companies, for example jewellery,
museums, banks, public buildings
and military facilities. The sensor
allows the user to monitor up to
four glass plates or glass panels for
breakage or manipulation such as
cutting or drilling. The device is
able to detect the drilling action
of holes with diameters as small as
10 mm creating access protection
and it enables ongoing 24-hour
monitoring and reliably prevents
false alarms. A fully automatic
calibration feature is provided
for the monitored glass panels
along with potential free outputs,
providing the facility to extend for
future bus models (e.g. LSn). n
6 slave sensors: each is individual
and provides its own signal on a
different channel to its master sen-
sor. Each of these sub-systems

is connected, in series with the
others, to a central analyser, which
will perform additional correla-
tions not possible at the individual
master sensors. The detectors are
mounted with 5 metre intervals
to max 2x350 metres length
per controller. By exploiting the
capabilities of the mems sensors
with respect to the acceleration
of gravity it is possible to gain
information about the position
of the accelerometer in free space.
During installation the position
of the mems accelerometer will
be memorised. If it alters by more
than a pre-set, variable number of
degrees (e.g. 5°) it will produce a
tamper alarm.
· System Sensor, part of Honey-
well, showcased its new aspira-
tion portfolio at Security Essen
with the launch of the FAAST
LT series. The new detectors offer
fire detection for EN54-20 Class
C applications where standard
methods of detection are not the
optimum solution. The launch
follows the European introduction
of FAAST, Fire Alarm Aspiration
Sensing Technology which offers
ultra sensitive aspiration detec-
tion for mission critical Class A
applications.
FAAST LT is designed for use
in environments where access or
maintenance is restricted, aesthet-
ics are important, or in harsh
environments where extremes
in temperature, humidity and
airflow may cause detector failure
or false alarms. Examples include
cold storage facilities, warehouses,
factories and large public spaces
such as airports, churches and
museums. As a Class A device,
FAAST LT provides high sensitiv-
ity detection in small mission
critical applications such as small
data server rooms.
The new devices combine
field-proven laser smoke detec-
tion technology with ultrasonic
