The Detektor International Award ceremony was held
at the Skydd security show in Stockholm on Septem-
ber 19th, the Best Product winners were Sony, HID
and Cias.

Achieving a well-lit environment for network cameras during night time is not an easy task. The best way is of course to go out on scene and try out a chosen camera, lens and lighting combination in real conditions. However this is not always possible, but in reality, many systems that are set up during day time conditions may fail to achieve effective night-time images.

Security essen celebrated its 20th anniversary on
25-28 September with more than 39,000 trade visitors
and 1,086 exhibitors. The organisers emphasized the
fair’s strong international presence.

Along with this development some companies have grasped the opportunity to diversify into new markets and as a result the security arena is being enhanced with niche specialist products not traditionally associated with the industry.

In the last couple of years, more and more alarms are communicating via GSM and IP, but analogue telephone alarm transmission is still a very common way to communicate alarms.
